BIO
Dr Jonathan Hasian Haposan is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, based at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia. His work focuses on infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, clinical trials, evidence synthesis, implementation research, and health policy, particularly in low- and middle-income country settings.
He has been actively involved in research capacity strengthening through WHO TDR-related activities, particularly through the TDR Regional Training Centre at Universitas Gadjah Mada. His involvement includes facilitating training in Good Clinical Practice, clinical research, clinical monitoring, and Monitoring and Evaluation of Research Capacity Strengthening Activities. Through these roles, he contributes to strengthening ethical, high-quality, and policy-relevant health research capacity in Indonesia and the wider region.
His current doctoral research focuses on generating evidence to support the introduction of typhoid conjugate vaccine into Indonesia’s National Immunization Program, including systematic review, health economic evaluation, budget impact analysis, and disease burden modelling.
