DrSubramanian Swaminathan

Dr Subramanian has obtained a Master’s degree in statistics from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, India and later in 1996 a Masters Degreee on Health Services Research from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences (NIHeS), Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). Through a WHO/TDR Research Training Grant, he was trained on stochastic micro-simulation modelling technique at the EUR and acquired his PhD. The title of his thesis is "Modelling Lymphatic Filariasis Transmission and Control". He has 39 years of experience on vector-borne disease epidemiology, mathematical modelling and on sampling strategies. He uses mathematical models to understand disease transmission and control, with a particular focus on developing individual based stochastic simulation models and spatiotemporal models with applications to vector-borne diseases and control.
