DrRômulo José Soares Bezerra

Rômulo José Soares Bezerra holds a BS Pharm degree from Universidade Estácio de Sá (2004), a master's degree in cellular and molecular biology emphasis in Biochemistry at FIOCRUZ (2008) and a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology emphasis in Pharmacology and Immunology at FIOCRUZ (2012 ). Member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), has experience in microbiology, biochemistry and pharmacology in the following subjects: Leishmania amazonensis, nitric oxide, arginase, experimental anti-Leishmania chemotherapy, trypanosomatid biochemistry, Tuberculosis, MTB, XDR, acute liver failure, hepatology, virology, high-throughput screening of natural and synthetic products, purinergic receptors and neuropathic pain. He is currently a permanent lecturer and adviser of the Post Graduate Program in Teaching in Biosciences and Health of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (PGLSEBS - IOC) FIOCRUZ - RJ, where he also acts as coordinator of the discipline of updating in cellular biology. He has already headed seven students, including a Master 's degree and Ph.D in the Program of Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (PGBCM - IOC) FIOCRUZ, five of scientific initiation and three of Lato Sensu specialization - RJ (PGLSEBS - IOC). He is currently advisoring three in scientific initiation. As a bibliographical production has more than 14 articles published in international indexed magazine, a book chapter and ten national and international awards. On October 20, 2016, Rômulo was appointed to be a member of the teaching committee of the Regional Pharmacy Council of Rio de Janeiro (CRF-RJ), in 2017 he was awarded with a Post-Doctorate grade 10 of Rio de Janeiro grant by FAPERJ Research Support Center in Rio de Janeiro) and in 2018 was invited to integrate the technical committee of innovations in clinical pharmacy of the CRF-RJ. Since 2018, he has been a member of the CNPq's National Institute of Science and Technology in Tuberculosis (INCT-TB).
