Consultant in Public Health Medicine, as a Medical Doctor, main interest in public health in low and middle income countries, with 25 years’ work experience in global public health at local, national and international level. Specific interest in Neglected Tropical Diseases, with focus on dengue fever.
Postgraduate academic training as a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (London, United Kingdom), as a Doctor of Tropical Medicine (University of Heidelberg, Germany), as well as a Master's of Science in Public Health in Developing Countries (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom) and a Master's of Public Health (University of Birmingham, United Kingdom).
Programme management experience in health programme planning, implementation and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to work responsibly as a leader and as part of a team, to generate new ideas/strategies, to obtain support for implementation, consensus-building and to work to tight timelines. Good communicator with well-trained oral presentation and writing skills. Good interpersonal skills with wide experience in intercultural teams.
Teaching experience as a director and lecturer at Master’s Degree courses.
