DrMAHFUZA TALUKDER Flowra

Dr. Mahfuza Talukder Flowra, is an early career researcher working at the Infectious Disease Division of the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). Dr. Flowra had also served as the Assistant Registrar and Lecturer at a tertiary level medical college from 2011 to 2013. Since 2014,she is engaged at icddr,b in different phases of vaccine trials and immunological studies like first ever single dose OCV study in Bangladesh, non-inferiority trial of Cholvax, the first local OCV with technology transfer from IVI, Targeted vaccination to define Cholera Investment strategy, Phase I study of dmLT from ETEC and Innate & Adaptive immune response to Cholera. Currently, she is pursuing her MPH in implementation research with WHO-TDR fellowship at UGM, Indonesia. She is the first SEAOHUN as well as IVI fellow from Bangladesh. She is member of several international professional bodies like ASM, ISID, HIFA, One Health South Asia etc.

Dr. Flowra graduated with merit from Faridpur Medical College under Dhaka University in 2009 and completed her clinical internship in 2010.Besides her research career, she has received numerous national level awards in extracurricular activities like Music, Debating and Essay competition. In personal life, she is happily married and blessed with two lovely kids. She is inspired to advance her research career as an IVI fellow of this prestigious event. Dr. Flowra aims to develop a responsible and challenging Global Health career where performance and dedication would be best evaluated.
