Mr. Kamal Ranabhat currently working at Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) under the Ministry of Health and Population Nepal. He holds a Master Degree in Public Health from Nepal under a government scholarship. With a career objective of contributing towards NCDs control and prevention in Nepal, he has been involved in NCDs-related research, policy-development, projects, advocacy, and health promotion. He was actively involved in formulation of guidelines on “Chief Minister Citizen Check-Up Program” under Bagmati province for the prevention and control of NCDs under Bagmati province, Nepal. He also served as national coordinator of May Measurement Month 2018 (MMM-2018) and sub-national coordinator of MMM-2019:- A Global camping for health awareness, screening and prevention of hypertension led by International Society of Hypertension (ISH). During student life he served as national coordinator of “World Kidney Day-2019” organized by Physician Social Responsibility Nepal-Student Chapter (PSRN), Institute of Medicine (IOM).
He is an active member of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN). He is also a central committee member of Nepal Public Health Association (NEPHA) which is the national professional body of public health in Nepal. Currently, he is a co-investigator in a WHO-funded research entitled “Community engagement in PEN program: a pilot implementation study in Surkhet district in Nepal” to Address NCDs in Nepal.
He is an active member of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN). He is also a central committee member of Nepal Public Health Association (NEPHA) which is the national professional body of public health in Nepal.
