DrJonny Alejandro Garcia Luna

I am a dermatologist and epidemiologist committed to improving the prevention, diagnosis, and control of sexually transmitted infections and skin neglected tropical diseases in low- and middle-income countries. My research combines clinical epidemiology, implementation science, mathematical modeling, and translational microbiology to address challenges in STIs and Skin NTDs. I work at CIDEIM in Colombia, where I lead and collaborate on studies evaluating innovative diagnostic strategies, genomic epidemiology, and interventions to improve access to STI services among vulnerable populations. My long-term goal is to translate scientific discoveries into scalable solutions that strengthen health systems and reduce the burden of infectious diseases.
