DrHira Aslam

I am a Doctor of Pharmacy with a Master’s degree in Public health, with more than decade of clinical and public health experience with international organisations and national level health departments in tuberculosis, maternal health, and services for vulnerable populations. I have played a key role in the development of innovative healthcare initiatives and national guidelines, and Provincial strategic plans on Pakistan’s Tuberculosis/ Drug resistant Tuberculosis Programs & Family Planning (FP) High impact interventions & digital technologies in TB diagnostics & Management. I am a TB/ FP Master trainer & have also led various public health training programs in Pakistan.

I am also a certified operational researcher by WHO/TDR, also hold a TB research methods course from McGill Canada & member of International Union against TB & Lung diseases. I am actively involved in research projects and contributed towards developing healthcare initiatives for at-risk populations such as people living with HIV and TB, FP needs of Urban population in Pakistan.  I have initiated & led multiple implementation research projects in TB/ DR-TB program specially piloting and rolling out Novel- all oral short-term regimen BPaL/M in Pakistan and successfully establishing very first district based Decentralized DR-TB site in Punjab that informed policy makers for actionable approaches to improve patient experience, Treatment/ Prevention options & pathways and treatment outcomes. I am honored to represent TB Program multiple times in National & international conferences.
