BIO
I am a medical practitioner and emerging health economist with a strong interest in the economics of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), health systems performance, and infectious diseases in low-resource settings. My work focuses on generating evidence that strengthens antimicrobial stewardship, improves diagnostic decision-making, and informs cost-effective interventions to reduce inappropriate antibiotic use in rural and underserved communities.
I have clinical experience within district-level hospitals in Malawi, complemented by research engagement in AMR, community-level diagnostic stewardship, and health-economic evaluation of infectious disease interventions. My current research examines behavioural, structural, and economic drivers of antibiotic use, with an emphasis on integrating point-of-care diagnostics, digital tools, and implementation science to support rational prescribing.
I am committed to contributing to global health research that advances equitable access to quality care, reduces the burden of drug-resistant infections, and strengthens policy translation in resource-constrained health systems. I am particularly interested in collaborative research, capacity strengthening, and cross-disciplinary approaches to AMR and health policy innovation.
