I am a medical doctor with a specialty in dermatology. Although I am currently an associate professor of dermatology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, I have been trained as a GCP Clinical Monitor by WHO/TDR. and have monitored both vaccine and drug clinical trials in a number of developing countries. I have also worked with other WHO units such as IVR, and Polio Eradication Unit. In addition, I am currently the chief-editor of Middle East Journal of Cancer and the Iranian Journal of Dermatology and an editorial board member of a number of other national and international journals.I am also President of the Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors (EMAME), a fairly new association that has set out to promote high quality medical journals in that part of the world. In addition, I am
a member of the Iranian Commission of Medical Journals affiliated with the Iranian MoH. One of my main research interests is cutaneous leishmaniasis and I have conducted a number of studies in that field.
