BIO

Eunice Wandia Mailu-Muema is a high-level social protection specialist with technical expertise spanning from social protection (including cash-based transfers and shock responsive social protection), research, monitoring and evaluation, gender, epidemiology, and project planning and management. She possesses excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with demonstrated expertise in translating complex policy issues into clear programmable language. She currently works for WFP, Kenya Country office under the Country Capacity Strengthening unit as a Programme Policy Officer for social protection. She worked for Sightsavers International as a regional research advisor, East Central and Southern Africa supporting several countries in conducting research and synthesizing the evidence for use in informing programming and policy development. She previously held three different positions with Ministry of Health, Kenya National Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Lung Disease Program (NTLDP) as a Social Protection Coordinator, Monitoring and Evaluation officer and Tuberculous prevalence survey cluster team leader. Previously she also worked with KEMRI/CDC as an assistant research officer where she coordinated several research activities to inform public health policies and programming. She has advanced policy and programme skills and is a dynamic and effective communicator with strong networking and partnership-building skills. She is experienced in quantitative and qualitative research, and monitoring and evaluation approaches, including empirical reviews and ethical community and cash-based transfers. She has a wealth of experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders including working with multi-cultural teams and in complex environments.
