Professor Baus has successfully led numerous projects funded by prestigious organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the European Union, significantly contributing to the understanding and control of disease transmission.

One of his notable contributions is the creation of an immersive educational experience for a TDR MOOC on Implementation Research (IR) for Chagas disease, which addresses the specific needs of rural populations in Ecuador. This project showcases his ability to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing valuable insights into the challenges and solutions of IR in a real-world context. His efforts not only enrich educational resources but also enhance public health strategies by developing localized training materials.

In addition to his research, Professor Baus is an accomplished nature photographer, with exhibitions that highlight Ecuador's biodiversity, fostering environmental awareness. His dual expertise in public health and documentary filmmaking allows him to create impactful educational content that resonates with diverse audiences. Through his extensive experience and dedication, he continues to make significant contributions to both the scientific community and public health initiatives in Ecuador, demonstrating a holistic approach to health and environmental stewardship.

Professor Baus is also the creator of the Comciencia laboratory, dedicated to disseminating academic knowledge to the community. Comciencia produces content for platforms like Instagram and TikTok to inform the public about scientific efforts to address global challenges. Recognized as the largest university digital community in Ecuador, Comciencia plays a crucial role in scientific communication and public engagement. This initiative underscores Professor Baus’s commitment to making science accessible and engaging for the broader community.

Furthermore, Professor Baus has extensive experience as an international trainer in TDR/WHO courses. He has facilitated courses on Effective Planning and Evaluation of Projects in Biomedical Research and Good Health Research Practices. These courses are instrumental in training the next generation of researchers, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills to conduct high-quality health research. His role as a trainer highlights his expertise and commitment to advancing global health research practices.
