MrsElena Lazo

I am a medical doctor and epidemiologist, currently pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. I hold a master’s degree in Epidemiology from Universidad de Antioquia, with a focus on implementation research.

My doctoral research focuses on PM2.5 exposure in Chile’s Santiago Metropolitan Region. It aims to assess the effectiveness of the region’s air-quality plan (PPDA) and estimate the potential health benefits of reducing exposure, with particular attention to how these benefits are distributed across municipalities with different levels of socioeconomic vulnerability.
