I am an accomplished Administrator, Researcher, Policy maker and development specialist with over 20 years of experience in the public sector. While in the public service, I served as Programme HIV-AIDS Focal Person (HIV-AIDS Desk Officer), Programme Research advisor, Principal Investigator and member programme monthly review technology meetings / training among others. I have specialties in quantitative design (cross-sectional, case control and cohort studies and qualitative study designs).
ACADEMICS:
I graduated at University of Maiduguri with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Political Science and Administration and Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in International Relations at the School of Post Graduate studies with the same University, the University of Maiduguri. I further obtained additional Master’s Degree in Management of Development with specialization in rural development and HIV-AIDS from the Wageningen University and Research (VHL), The Netherlands.
I have also received training with Geneva Foundation for Medical Education Research (GFMER) on Implementation research with a focus on Infectious Disease of Poverty (IDP) 2017, “Lessons learned and experiences gained in improving the SRH of adolescents in the 25 years since the ICPD” and “Responding to the SRH needs of Adolescents in the context of the COVID-19 2020” among others.
EMPLOYMENT:
I have served in many Government Institutions among them; The Borno State ADP, Parastatals Division; office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Borno State Hospitals Management Board (HMB) as Director Administration (Human Resource) and later elevated to the rank of Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ministerial Secretary office of the Head of Service (OHOS) among several others.
While in the public service, my opinion were highly valued, trusted and respected due to quality output. The weapon that encouraged me to give more than I get was the use of network, situational analysis, flexibility and adaptability by asking myself question and paying attention to the surrounding environment to see, notice, evaluate, understand and manage the various stimuli around me.I also participate in local consultancy service on variety of development activities including local Research.
