BIO

I am a public health specialist and an epidemiologist passionate about public health and conducting research in Malawi. My research interests are in Malaria, HIV and maternal and child health.

My great interest is to improve public health services in Malawi by identifying and implementing evidence-based and community-centred interventions through operations research. Building on my years’ experience in research and working in the public health sector as a District Health Officer with communities and people at all levels of health care in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating public health programs in Malawi, I would like to enhance implementation of community-centred approaches.

Also, I have co-established “Women in Infectious Disease and Health Research Network in Malawi (WIDREM)” to provide a peer-supporting and lobbying platform for advancement of careers for women scientists in Malawi having experienced and observed the challenges of women researchers in the country.
