Vibrant Ugandan medial doctor with experience in HIV-related research work both in prevention and clinical management.
Participated in the Phase III Randomized INSIGHT START trial that informed the WHO 'Test and Treat' approach to HIV care at Joint Clinical Research Cetre(JCRC), Lubowa Uganda
On study leave from Uganda Virus Research Institute-International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (UVRI-IAVI) HIV Vaccine Program.Was previously involved in the HPTN 084 Phase III Randomized Sub-Saharan Women's trial that demonstrated the safety and superiority of long-acting injectable cabotegravir over oral Truvada for pre-exposure prohylaxis (PREP) against HIV.
Brings to the table experience in clinical care and management of diseases of poverty particularly HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria and malnutrition.
Excited about the relevance of research in answering pertinent health questions and bringing about global health impact.
Interested in translating research into forms that are palatable for the average individual in Africa and beyond through undertaking ground-breaking research, research communication and sharing knowledge in epidemiology, vaccinology and project management.Interested in acquiring knowledge to impact and mentor other researchers.
Currently a clinical research and development fellow at European Vaccine Initiative(EVI) Germany funded by WHO-TDR.Focused hands-on training in Vaccine Development and Project Management.
