    Collapse overview
Since obtaining my medical degree in 2002 at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, the University of Bamako in Mali, I have gained extensive field and laboratory experience on Infectious diseases epidemiology. I have participated as clinical investigator in cohort and case control studies and clinical trials including artemisinin-based combination treatment (ACT), Intermittent preventive treatment (IPT) of children and pregnant mothers, age-specific epidemiology of malaria infection for vaccination trials, and anti-malarial drug resistance. My doctoral thesis entitled Comparison of intermittent preventive treatment with chemoprevention for the prevention helped to change the malaria prevention strategy in pregnant women from Chloroquine (CQ) to Sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine (SP). This training curriculum overlaps our own research on malaria molecular epidemiology, as well as anti-malarial drug resistance monitoring in Mali in both our field and laboratory studies. In the laboratory, we analyze clinical samples for molecular markers of drug resistance in order to link them with in vivo data collected in the field throughout Mali. On the field we follow up after patients consent and we treat them according with study protocols. The results of our studies showed that Sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine plus amodiaquine therapy is as efficacious as sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine plus artesunate in the treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in Mali and to contribute of implementation of the Seasonal Malaria Chemo-preventive (SMC). In 2009 I have obtaining my master degree in public health of University of Bordeaux2, France, Master in Parasitology Entomology in 2014 and PhD in December 2017.
