    Collapse overview
I have leadership skills and training to effectively coordinate multidisciplinary teams for conducting clnical
research studies. Since my training as Epidemiologist, I have participated in multiple projects, ranging from
clinical trials to basic, translational and epidemiological research. Recently, I acquired skills for
implementation research in challenging conditions, common to Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs),
aiming to contribute to improve the health of people affected by NTDs.

I have a broad experience in conducting research projects, through the different roles I have played, which
include study coordinator, co-investigator and principal investigator. Additionally, I have solid understanding
of the ethical guidelines, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Health Research Practices (GHRP) and
Effective project planning and evaluation in biomedical research (PEEP), for the latter I am also an
institutional trainer. Furthermore, I successfully administered projects (e.g. coordinated staff,
communication with regulatory and funding agencies, and administered budgets) and have actively
collaborated as member of multidisciplinary teams of investigators in Clinical Research on infectious
diseases. My participation in two clinical trials in CL and one epidemiological field study aimed to estimate
the burden of disease of CL in two rural endemic areas in Colombia (Tumaco and Pueblo Rico), have given
me experience for assessment of the clinical response in CL under ideal conditions (clinical trials),
implementation of GCP, and conduct of clinical trials and epidemiological research in challenging
    environments with limited resources.
