I am a Colombian microbiologist with an MPH in Global Health from the University of Washington (Seattle), with an emphasis in Leadership, Policy and Management, and a graduate certificate in Business Administration from Rosario University in Bogotá, Colombia.

I worked for more than 10 years in health programs with hospitals, public institutions, and multinational companies in Colombia. During my graduate studies, I completed an internship with the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington D.C. in which I developed the conceptual framework as well as the monitoring and evaluation tools to be used in a multi-country initiative to prevent HIV and strengthen adolescent health among vulnerable populations in Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition in my master’s thesis, I conducted a rigorous analysis and systematic review of the use of Breast Cancer Guidelines developed by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in low and middle-income countries.

I am currently working at CIDEIM (International research and training center) as the monitoring and evaluation and knowledge translation Specialist. I coordinate an initiative to strengthen capacity in implementation research at the institutional, national and regional level; to promote intersectoral communication and cooperation around health research; and to implement a monitoring and evaluation framework for the training programs. I am also part of a multiregional project to control dengue transmission by developing, implementing, and evaluating a model of analysis of dengue transmission in three municipalities in Colombia.

Through my work experience and academic research, I have developed health program design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation skills. I enjoy coaching and training health personnel and working to advance public and private partnerships. In addition, I have strong interpersonal, leadership, communication and teamwork skills and I am very passionate and committed to my work.
